Christ the King

The festival of Christ the King
celebrates the reign among us of the One who reigns from the cross,
embracing our weakness and our death. Christ reigns among us in the word of
mercy, in the font of life, in the supper of grace. Christ reigns among us
in those who are needy, homeless, sick or dying. He does not conquer by
force, but serves the people of the earth in peace, and invites us to do the
same. We believe that Christ, who reigns in heaven and on earth, "will come
again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have
no end." The festival of Christ the King is always celebrated on the last
Sunday or the church year and directs our hearts to pray fervently in the
Advent season which begins next Sunday. |
