Vacation Bible School 2010!
Next Monday, we will begin our Vacation Bible School program for
this year, Baobab Blast! We will share the message of God's
great get-together, and how God's Word shapes the way we live
together as a Christian community of faith. There will be great
songs, Biblical storytelling, games, snacks, crafts, and lots of
fun!
Days: July 19-22
Times: 6:00pm- Dinner
6:30 to 8:30- VBS program
There are still chances to help out:
1. Putting up and taking down decorations- July 17 and
24, 10am
We are sharing decorations with some of our neighboring
churches, and will be decorating our building the Saturday
before, the 17th, starting at 10am. After the event, we will be
taking down decorations on Saturday, July 24th, so that St. Mark
Lutheran can use them. Please plan to come out and help us make
the church look great for the young people!
2. Help out with the event
We still are looking for people who can help set up and clean up
for dinner or handing out invitations to the event in our
neighborhood, as well as for other tasks. If you are interested,
please speak to Pastor Aaron or Barb Schendlinger.
3. Giving
There is a board at the front of the church that includes
items that will be used for the event. Grab an item, sign your
name, and bring in that item before Sunday, July 18th. If you
would rather give money instead, there are envelopes in the back
of the church and in the bulletin that will help raise money.
4. Prayer
Support this great event in prayer, both for the young
people who are participating or for the other leaders who are
guiding them. Craft your own, or use this as an example:
O God, you are the one who sent your Son into the world so
that all might be brought into you. As we celebrate Vacation
Bible School, we ask that your Holy Spirit be with them, with
the students who are being filled with your love and grace, and
with the leaders who are being refreshed and renewed. Guide all
to trust in you, love one another, follow you, and care for
others. Help lives to be enriched and for all involved to have
a Baobab Blast! In your Son's name we pray, Amen.
