Question Sundays

                                       JOHN 11:1-45

Why would Jesus ignore Mary and Martha’s plea, when He could have just said the word and healed Lazarus on the spot?  What might that tell us about how God answers prayer?

When it is time to go to Judea, and the disciples hesitate because of the danger, Jesus says “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Those who walk during the day do not stumble, because they see the light of this world.  But those who walk at night stumble, because the light is not in them.”  What did He mean? What might it mean for us?

When they arrived in Bethany, Jesus “wept”, and was “greatly disturbed”.  He knew He was going to bring Lazarus back to life. Why do you think He felt so much emotion?  How is that a hopeful message for us?

What does Jesus mean when He says that he is “the resurrection and the life”?

There is so much symbolism in the raising of Lazarus to life.  What other messages do you see, and how might they inform your spiritual life going forward?
